GFW Playing Together – Monday Slow Session
GFW Playing Together – Wednesday Warm Up
Class Code – B5M
MONDAY class for BEGINNER level 5-string banjo.
As the 5-string banjo is primarily an American instrument, Garry will teach “Scruggs” (‘Duelling Banjos’ /‘Foggy Mountain Breakdown) style. Though the classes are aimed at primarily Scruggs style, they will look at melodic “Keith” style, single-string “Reno” style and a 5-string approach to Celtic traditional tunes.
The classes will be fun and informative. (Guitarists may find banjo easy to adapt to – there are some similarities between the instruments).
Class Code – BJT
MONDAY class for tenor banjo (4-string) ALL LEVELS.
Normally we have a single Tenor Banjo class for both new players and people who want to improve their existing skills.
When we have sufficient numbers we run 2 classes, which helps match skills to learning and keeps a reasonable student to tutor ratio.
Currently we are running a single Monday night class.
